What if, rather than being a piece of 19th century exotica, Jules Verne’s Around the World In 80 Days had been a futuristic novel, projecting Phileas Fogg’s travels into the 21st century? What would Fogg hear if he took to the air, floating silently above our increasingly globalised planet?

In Balloonarticularity 80, Verne’s Victorian traveller journeys to the future of the present, listening for difference in an increasingly homogeneous world. Balloonarticularity 80 reflects the time of its composition and my feelings about political events during this period.
